The Endless Battle Of Advertising!

Advertisers are going to great lengths now a days to sell a product. Many of these products are not very useful, it takes a lot to actually make it appealing. I believe that most products which target lifestyle are very unfair on the way they create their demand.

The first commercial that comes to mind is the axe commercial. It is extremely unlikely that by spraying a seven dollar scented aerosol can around your body, you will have a mass amount of females running toward you. Unfortunately the more likely influenced, and insecure age group will create a false image in their head about what the product is used for and eventually purchase it (hoping that there wildest dreams comes true). I believe this is false advertising, but the advertisers know the loop holes to get away with it.

Eventually, advertisers will push more and more provocative, and influencing advertising techniques until we become; completely controllable zombie puppets under the string of the advertiser (if we haven't already), or rebel and completely destroy the chances to immorally sell a product. In which each case will result in a negative fashion.

Advertising needs to be balanced. Right now the advertisers are only considering how they influence the nation through financial decisions, and not how they influence emotions or self esteem. On the other hand, it is the consumers duty to be aware of and fight against the obstacles that advertisers throw at us.

Throughout the distant future, the constant battle will press on. The advertiser and consumer have equal leverage on either side. Presumably, the advertisers have the power, although the consumers have strength in numbers and could destroy any company thrown in their way. It is now up to YOU to make the difference!
